Energy Brigades for Roma orphanes
Lom, Bulgaria

In August 1999, the Bulgarian Energy Brigades organised together with the local Roma organisation Roma Lom and the volunteer camp organisation CVS a working camp in the Bulgarian town of Lom. The participants of the camp, coming from all over Europe,  insulated and draught-proofed together with volunteers from the local Roma community rooms in an orphanage for Roma children.

As a result the temperature in these rooms rises in winter from an uncomfortable level to a comfortable one, which not only feels good for the children, but also prevents illnesses. Contacts with Roma Lom are continuing, and also for 2000 a work camp is planned.
